apparently today is No Shame Day!
I have borderline personality disorder, social phobia, generalized anxiety disorder, some depression issues, gender dysphoria, hyperlexia, and a partridge in a pear tree.
I had a bad day today. I slept most of the day and then freaked out at my boyfriend about how I am basically Satan. That happens sometimes. Even on my good days I have problems I wouldn’t have if I were neurotypical. I joke that I’m living with Brian, the worst roommate of all time, and I can’t ever move out. :)
But if I could I wouldn’t fix my BPD. It’s given me struggles other people don’t have, but it’s also helped. I appreciate my capacity for joy, spiritual experiences, and idealization of those I love; I appreciate my impulsivity, my hypersexuality, the way BPD motivates me towards self-care, and the fact that I can never live a life of quiet desperation. Only a life of very very noisy desperation.
